Planted in 2009, the newest addition to Knez Winery’s estate vineyards fills the space between Demuth above and Cerise below. Now the hillsides adjacent to and below the winery site are a contiguous run of vineyard blocks following the slopes above Boonville. 2012 will mark our first year of harvest from the Knez Vineyard block.
A mix of Pinot Noir selections comprising nearly 4 acres makes up the upper block, in addition to two 1-acre blocks—one planted with Syrah/Viognier and the other with a mix of Pinot Gris, Friulano, and Malvasia. From its inception, this site has been naturally farmed and, like our other vineyards, follows sustainable practices without chemicals.
